Gloucestershire Party DJ – Amazing Hidden Barn Party
I recently had the pleasure of DJing at an incredible joint 18th and 50th birthday party in Gloucestershire, held in a stunning rustic barn hidden away on a working dairy farm in the Gloucestershire countryside.
It was a real hidden gem of a venue and, with hundreds of guests attending, this was a party that needed a DJ setup capable of delivering both the sound and atmosphere for a large venue – as well as music that would work for a huge mix of ages.
Professional Sound & Lighting for a Large Barn Party
A joint 18th and 50th birthday naturally brings together a very mixed crowd, so getting the music right was all about reading the room and moving between generations and styles without losing the dance floor.
Throughout the night I mixed everything from disco and party classics through to current favourites, dance anthems and upfront Ibiza house. The result was a packed dance floor with guests dancing well into the early hours. Rather than working from a rigid playlist, I mixed the music live throughout the evening, reacting to what was working and taking the party in the direction the crowd wanted to go. A large rustic barn needs more than just great music.
With hundreds of guests and a sizeable space to fill, I brought a professional sound system capable of delivering clear, powerful sound throughout the venue, alongside my DJ booth and lighting setup.
I also used a subtle haze effect, which worked brilliantly in the barn. The haze catches the beams from the lighting and makes them much more visible, helping transform the space once the sun goes down and creating a proper party atmosphere without taking away from the rustic character of the venue..
